U.S. News & World Report consistently ranks the Mass General Cancer Center as one of the top ten cancer centers in the country. Its nurses were the first in Massachusetts to achieve Magnet status from the American Nurses Credentialing Center in recognition of the hospital's exceptional nursing care.

Known for providing customized, innovative treatments and compassionate care to both adults and children, the Cancer Center comprises 23 fully integrated, multidisciplinary clinical programs and a vast array of support and educational services. Its network of affiliations extends throughout New England and the southeastern U.S.

The Cancer Center’s commitment to eradicating cancer is fueled by scientific investigation conducted as part of one of the largest hospital-based research programs in the nation. Through a powerful synergy between laboratory scientists and bedside physicians, the Mass General Cancer Center fosters innovation in all phases of cancer research. Physician investigators conduct nearly 400 clinical trials annually.

Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center The Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center (HICCC) of Columbia University (CU) is the University's organizational structure for the conduct of basic, clinical and population-based cancer research and patient care. Cancer Center researchers and physicians are dedicated to understanding the biology of cancer and to applying that knowledge to the design of cancer therapies and prevention strategies that reduce its incidence and progression and improve the quality of the lives of those affected by cancer.

Columbia's interest in cancer research dates from 1911 with the creation of the Institute for Cancer Research. Initially funded by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) in 1972 and designated comprehensive in 1979, the HICCC is one of only 41 NCI-designated comprehensive cancer centers in the United States, of which only three are in New York State.

OHSU Knight Cancer Institute

OHSU Knight Cancer InstituteWith the latest treatments, technologies, hundreds of research studies and approximately 400 clinical trials, the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute is the only National Cancer Institute-designated Cancer Center between Sacramento and Seattle— an honor earned only by the nation's top cancer centers. The honor is shared among the more than 650 doctors, nurses, scientists and staff who work together at the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute to reduce the impact of cancer.

ANCOThe Association of Northern California Oncologists (ANCO) was organized in 1990 to be an advocate for, educate, and inform the practicing hematologist and oncologist.

ANCO is dedicated to assisting oncologists and their staffs deliver the highest quality patient care by providing a forum for the exchange of ideas, data, and knowledge and by representing the interests of oncologists, nurses, practice managers, and people living with cancer before state and federal government agencies, regional and national oncology and medical societies, and insurance and pharmaceutical companies.
